When you know something good is about to end. Yet you’re still in the midst of the good, anticipating what’s to come. Living in the future and the past. Trying to savor the final moments with an undertone of melancholy. You’re giving away the present moment, to the elusive future.
It’s a lose-lose situation.
But you can’t not.
That’s your way of honoring what has been…and in a way, it makes the present moment a tang of bittersweet that will last forever.
//Pre-grief.
