When you’re away from your so-called “home”
and you don’t miss it,
what does that mean?

When the familiar roads,
the familiar faces,
are remembered but not craved.

When the love is real,
both given and felt.

But the days are not counted the same way they do.

Are you heartless?
You know that’s not true.

Maybe it’s time you accept that
just because something is familiar,
just because there was love,
it’s okay to not feel at home.

It’s okay to admit
you’ve never felt at home,
back home.
